The rescheduled Kent Women’s Softball Cricket League Finals for 2024 took place this weekend, with Linton Park Cricket Club emerging as champions and claiming the coveted shield.
The popular festival league saw continued growth in entries, 27 teams (up 3) made up of seven divisions (up 1) across the county. The winners of each of the London, Tunbridge Wells, West, Mid, North, East & Central divisions qualified for the County Final, as well as the two best runners up.
The finals were played in an 8-a-side pairs format, each innings lasting eight overs, with the nine teams split into three groups. Once the group stage round robins were complete, the teams were once again split, this time into their three Finals Groups to determine their final placings.
Linton Park CC had a 100% win record throughout the day and edged The Mote CC in the final, claiming the winner’s shield for the first time.
Final Standings:
- Linton Park
- The Mote
- Castle Hill
- Penshurst Park
