Penshurst Park 2nd XI (H)
Scorecard
On a sunny day at the Old County Ground on Saturday, TMCC won the toss and batted first. We were in trouble early on as some accurate swing bowling kept things tight. After three early wickets, Steve Marsh and Adam Nix steadied the ship, before Steve top edged a full toss.
Shortly afterwards, skipped John Paton was dismissed, but a fantastic 96 run partnership between Adam and Al Ramsay bolstered the total, enabling us to get to 178 all out with one ball remaining.
Penshurst Park got off to a fast start in their innings with the opener playing some big shots. An unfortunate injury to Jake Smyth didn’t help matters as he left the field with a ruptured Achilles. The scoring however was restricted when the field was relaxed and many fielders were placed in the deep.
Penshurst had lost several wickets, with three falling to Dibbles, as they needed a run a ball of the final 10 overs. They would eventually win with over 3 overs to spare.
