Saturday XI – Brasted & Sundridge (H)
Scorecard

Brasted & Sundridge visited the Old County Ground on Saturday, and after John Paton won another toss, TMCC batted first.

Some tight opening bowling restricted us to 41-2, but Steve Marsh and Malcolm Tunnicliff played some superb strokes to stabilise the innings. Steve was bowled for an excellent 44 and Malcolm scored his third consecutive fifty to leave the score at 154-4.

Some late hitting from Howard Alexander, who scored a boundary on his last ball to secure his 50, ensured a total of 201-6.

Brasted & Sundridge were in the game early on in their innings with an early wicket a piece for the Ramsay duo of Al and Ben. But a flurry of wickets had them 75-6, after a customary spell of 3-34 from Simon Uttridge.

There was some late resistance, but the skipper brought himself on to take the final wicket, stumped by Richard Sims, to bowl out the opposition for 168. With figures of 1-0, John then vowed to not bowl again this season to ensure he was top of the averages.

Sunday XI – Leeds & Broomfield (A)
Scorecard

The Sunday side made an appearance yesterday albeit a short one.

They started well at 110-1 with fifties for James Worrall and Jacob Smyth after 17 overs. A couple of wickets fell shortly afterwards and it sparked the most incredible collapse, which was spectacular to watch. We ended with 137 all out.

After taking to the field, we were no better, and a barrage of extras kept us in 2nd place throughout. Leeds & Broomfield knocked off the runs in 19 overs.
